Watsons

Watsons is a stunning 2-acre, mature tree-lined farm reservoir situated in Roxwell, Chelmsford. Surrounded by established trees and natural features, the lake has a peaceful, intimate feel while offering some seriously impressive carp fishing. Two large reed beds, positioned at either end of the lake, provide an important feature for the fish and create some excellent areas to target throughout the year.

The lake currently holds around 65 carp, with the current lake record standing at an impressive 44lb. There are already two known forties, alongside seven fish over 35lb and a further 15 carp over 30lb. The stock is in excellent condition and continues to grow well, with the potential for several more fish to break the 40lb barrier in the very near future.

With just 8 carefully positioned swims, Watsons offers a quiet and exclusive fishing experience. The lake is operated as a 2-rod water, allowing anglers to concentrate on fishing effectively without the water becoming overcrowded.

Depths reach around 15ft in places, giving the lake plenty of variation and providing the carp with deeper sanctuary, particularly during the colder months. Watsons is especially well known for its great winter form, making it an exciting venue for anglers looking to target quality carp throughout the year rather than simply relying on the warmer months.

With a growing stock of big, hard-fighting carp, a stunning mature setting and plenty of natural features to fish to, Watsons is a small water with plenty of character and one that looks set to produce some very special fish in the years ahead.
