Chignal

Chignal is an action-packed carp fishing venue set in the heart of the Essex countryside near Chelmsford. At 9 acres in size and home to over 600 carp, it is by far our easiest lake and has quickly developed a reputation for providing consistent sport throughout the year.

Originally used as our stock pond, Chignal was converted into a fishery in 2026. Following its first year as a syndicate water, the fishing has already been excellent, with anglers enjoying plenty of action while still having the chance of some very rewarding captures.

The lake currently holds five carp over 35lb, with the biggest being an impressive 37lb common, alongside hundreds of 20lb-plus fish. The stock is made up of a good variety of carp, providing plenty of opportunities for regular bites while offering the potential for some bigger surprises as the fish continue to grow.

Chignal is particularly well known for its all-year-round action, making it an ideal water for anglers who enjoy getting a bend in the rod. Its easy nature also makes it suitable for anglers of all abilities, whether you're looking for a productive session, have limited time on the bank, or simply enjoy fishing a venue where you can expect plenty of opportunities.

As part of the farm's irrigation system, water levels naturally fluctuate throughout the year, adding an interesting dimension to the fishing. The lake has 16 well-spaced swims, giving anglers plenty of room to enjoy their sessions without feeling crowded.

Chignal is certainly one for the future, but it is already providing excellent sport and producing some impressive carp. As the lake matures and the stock continues to develop, we're expecting the fishing to become even more exciting, with the combination of consistent action, a healthy stock and genuine big-fish potential making Chignal a fantastic addition to the syndicate portfolio.
