Set in a particularly quiet corner of the farm, Mashbury is a beautifully mature 4-acre reservoir that has developed into one of our most peaceful and secluded waters. No longer used for irrigation, the lake offers a relaxed and intimate fishing experience, with just 8 well-spaced swims fished from two sides of the reservoir.
The stock is made up of around 80 hand-picked carp from several of the country's leading fish farmers, and the quality of the fish is exceptional. With over 25 carp now over 30lb, Mashbury is quickly developing into a serious big-fish water. The current lake record is an impressive 42lb mirror, while the best common is already over 39lb. There are a further five carp over 35lb, all of which are growing quickly, so it surely won't be long before multiple 40lb-plus fish are present.
Mashbury is not your typical reservoir. Depths range from around 4ft in the shallows to approximately 10ft at the dam end, creating a variety of areas for the carp to explore and giving anglers plenty to think about. The mature nature of the lake and its relatively low angling pressure make watercraft particularly rewarding, while the variety of depths and features provides plenty of opportunities to locate and target the fish.
Another great advantage of Mashbury is the ability for members to park behind their swims for around 80% of the year, making the lake particularly convenient and accessible while still retaining its secluded feel.
For anglers who enjoy quiet, low-pressure fishing, quality carp and a peaceful setting, Mashbury offers a fantastic balance of challenge and reward. With its impressive stock and rapidly growing fish, this is a water with a very exciting future.
Mashbury is included on the T1 ticket, alongside Boyton, Farmview and Chignal, providing excellent value and four very different waters — all within around a mile of each other on the same farm.
